What bootstrapped founders actually said about AI, pricing and getting acquired
6 claims that held, each with the quote it rests on and the date it was true.
Seen in the corpus 3 times, 2023-04-05 to 2026-01-27. Claims that did not hold are not listed here: they were written by research agents rather than by Jason Cohen, so they belong with the other refusals, grouped by how they failed.

Jason Cohen publicly declines to treat AI as transformational.
When I research stuff for the book, I would say at least half the time it's simply wrong.
If AI is supposed to be so revolutionary, how come it's only increasing my performance by 20%?
When the AI helps me write, but in the end of the day, I'm still writing an article a day, just a little bit faster...I'm not terribly compelled.
Jason Cohen reports roughly a 20% performance lift from AI.

Jason Cohen states that before building an AI product, he would apply the bar of solving a pre-existing budgeted problem.
I would be solving a real problem that already existed. Of course, that has budget, probably budget for AI. I would use AI to make something possible that was previously impossible, and I would do it for experts.
I would build something where contextually AI really can be like that. So something as broad as coding, that's too broad and it's not even true that AI in that broad of a context is a 10Xer.
